Don’t miss the party line!

Days: getting longer. Mercury: rising. Diary: filling up.

OK so I haven’t quite packed away the winter coat yet (although I have managed to lose most of my hats), but it does finally feel like Summer is just around the corner.

One of the clear highlights of last Summer was Awamu Together, an intimate but perfectly formed party to raise money for Awamu – a project working with mums in the slums of Kampala, Uganda to change the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities. Considering that this was their first event, and pretty much everyone was involved on a voluntary basis, they set the bar incredibly high, and completely smashed it, delivering good times to all while raising a five-figure sum for a great cause into the bargain. Here’s how it went down last year:

It was that good, that tickets are flying already without any line-up even being advertised yet! So, keep it to yourself, but I’m delighted to be “performing” there again this coming Summer, and here’s a little mixtape I made to celebrate.

It’s a groovy FunkSoulReggaeHipHopDisco kind of party throwdown. If you want a download, buy a ticket & send me a message! (contact form at the end of this post)

The cause:

I really hope to see you there. (Assuming I can actually see this time!)

Late May bank holiday sees the Disco Shed crew return to South Park, Oxford for the second Common People Oxford. I’ll be there on the Sunday, delivering the vibes, and probably collaborating with Sean Paul while I’m at it. Last year was great; here’s hoping for similar weather to last year.

In case you missed them, I recently uploaded a couple of tracks from the vaults, a retake of Dee-Lite’s “What is Love” (featuring Omeron):

…and a refix of “Genius of Love 2002” by The X-ecutioners featuring Tom Tom Club & Biz Markie.

Sorry, I have no idea whatsoever why the player won’t embed for these. Free downloads, for the time being at least.

Loads more to to report, but I know you all have short attention spanOH MY GOOD LOOK AT THAT SQUIRREL!
